My daughter and I started Rhee taekwondo about 6 months ago. We are not only learning to protect ourselves, we are also gaining fitness and self – confidence. Rhee taekwondo has become a part of our lifestyle, which we definitely enjoy and have gained many skills which has helped us in everyday life.

Since beginning my study of Rhee Taekwon-do almost 3yrs ago I have become more flexible, fit and powerful. I like the control over my body and mind that I’ve gained and enjoy the variety of techniques taught.

I started doing Rhee Taekwon-do in May 2005 as a way of meeting new people and getting fit at the same time. I have gained so much more than I could have imagined, it has taught me self-defence and focus with a strong body and mind. I am currently a brown belt, black stripe and will be applying for my Black Belt exam soon. I hope I have worked on all the necessary skills, fitness and focus to reach the high standards that Master Rhee expects of his Black Belt members.

I joined Rhee Taekwon-do to learn self defence when I was the ripe old age of 40. When my four daughters came to watch me train they were excited about it and wanted to join with me. We all train together now, it’s a great way for us to do something together that teaches us self-defence, discipline, focus and fitness, as well as giving us goals for the future.

Rhee Taekwon-do has improved my fitness & flexibility and has reinforced that age is no barrier in being able to achieve in life. I began my study of the art late in life and gained in confidence as I worked my way through the ranks to Black Belt level. Now I am actively involved in instructing and look forward to promoting the art for many years to come.

Fun, exercise and a great way to unwind from either work or school. Rhee Taekwon-do has become a big part of my life.

Rhee Taekwon-do is a great way to build confidence and find strength you never knew you had. It’s also a great way to meet people and I’ve never been in better shape.

I love Rhee Taekwon-do because it gives me fitness and good health, it also gives me the confidence for who I want to be. It makes my mind more focused and stronger.

Since joining Rhee Taekwon-do as a family I have had the pleasure of watching my children develop self-esteem and confidence as they face each challenge in learning Rhee Taekwon-do. We all enjoy the training and cheer each other on as we sit for our grading exams. My children and I have greatly improved our health and fitness. I recommend it to any family who are thinking of positive self improvement for themselves and their children.

Rhee Taekwon-do keeps me fit and active. I’ve learned lots of new moves to help protect myself and I have made heaps of new friends. I love it!

I started Rhee Taekwon-do 12 months ago after watching my two sons train. I have never done any sporting activities with Ned and Charlie. Up until then they always did soccer, surfing and rugby with their dad, so this was a great opportunity to share an activity. At first I was extremely nervous but soon put at ease by friendly, helpful members, so that I didn’t feel stupid trying to do all, what looked to me, very strange moves! I did not realise how much enjoyment I would have and soon began to look forward to our weekly training evenings. Apart from being fun I am now fitter and have grown in confidence. Everyone helps each other and when we are not at the training centre the boys and I can train and help one another at home. Recently I gained my third grade promotion, something I never thought I would achieve. The challenge between the boys and me is now on as I am one belt ahead of them, but not for long I’m sure!

Initially my wife and I came along to support our 2 children as we thought this would be a great way to instil some greater confidence and personal skills for what lay ahead for the adults of tomorrow. We were surprised to see how it was to take part in the classes and subsequently both my wife and I (and our 3rd child aged 4) also joined with our children. Since joining I believe this to be the best collective decision we have made for us
as parents and for our own health, having done little or no exercise for some 20 years. The lessons are great for all ages and no one is left out. For the short time we have been coming I know both personally and jointly as a family we have greater confidence, flexibility and a sense of achievement as we complete the gradings. One additional gain is the people we meet during lessons and gradings, and realising just how far and wide Rhee Taekwon-do reaches.
